By the way, Fang Fang's diary is fake, otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here and posting this comment

不会吧,不会吧,不会真的有人去看方方日记吧

还真是,外国人对中国的印象还停留在00年代

Whose account is this based on? Did they put it down somewhere? Would like more first-hand experiences.

I made this after reading an article (NY Times I think) by Chinese author Fang Fang who wrote a daily diary from her house in Wuhan, which covered the first few days of the lockdown.  As things got worse, she kept going, posting her diaries on Chinese social media site Weibo. The Chinese government found out and would delete her posts almost immediately and began harassing her.  Her posts were later collected and translated to English and are now a book called "Wuhan Diary: Dispatches from a Quarantined City" published by Harper Collins and available on Amazon.

That's the only first-hand account I'm aware of that's been saved and translated- There were multiple other Chinese citizen journalists trying to get their story out (usually via social media) but they were blocked, hunted and finally taken away by the government.

Other snippets of the story came from various news articles by foreign journalists who happened to live or be in Wuhan at the time- like the woman pleading with guards to let her daughter out of Wuhan for chemotherapy and the father pleading to get back in to take care of his disabled son, people who couldn't get back before lockdown forced to abandon their pets and the drones patrolling the streets with facial recognition technology.

Please, make Linux version.

I would, but the software only offers Win, Mac, iOS, Android and Browser Game in the export options.  I don't know if there is a way to do it apart from the software.  Would any of the other versions work for you?

It looks like you use old version of RPG Maker MV. Try upgrading it. https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/rpg-maker-mv-now-has-a-linux-version-and-...

It's actually a program called "Tyranobuilder" not RPG Maker so I'm still kind of stuck on the Linux issue :P

Okay, then I suggest you doing two things:

1.Email developers of Tyranobuilder with request to add export to Linux. Maybe one day they will see that there is enough of demand for export to Linux. Considering how similiar it's to RPG Maker MV, addition of this feature, I guess, won't be so hard.

2.Meanwhile, make online version of your game, export to browser game

I was able to run your game under my 64-bit Debian 9 with command (one line)

"WINEPREFIX=~/_prefix64_wine WINEARCH=win64 WINEDLLOVERRIDES=libglesv2.dll=d wine Quarantine.exe"
(I also installed Gecko package as Wine suggested, not sure if it was crucial)

Although sending email and making web version still won't hurt.

Different question: Why is game menu in Japanese?

Thank you so much for your feedback!  Tyranobuilder is aware of the Linux issue and have been for years- it's just been slow going adding it (I think they have a small staff.)  I will add a browser version though so more people can play it.

About the title, it's Chinese for 'Quarantine.'  When I made this game back in February, Wuhan, China was the only place in the world on lockdown for Covid and so the story is set there.  It's based on real stories from Chinese citizen journalists on the ground that the government was trying to silence.
